Product Marketing Manager
£33,000 + attractive benefit package

Law Business Research Ltd (LBR) is an established news service and publishing house based in London providing news, analysis and research tools for the global legal community. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, enthusiastic and creative candidate to take responsibility for the marketing, sales and customer engagement activities of one our most established products (Global Arbitration Review). Revenue & Retention

  • Managing and executing the annual renewal process to meet revenue & volume targets, ensuring all communications are sent on time and providing weekly reports for renewals – 2018 targets of c.£2million and 90% level retention
  • Managing the execution of the brand’s customer engagement plan to drive usage in order to achieve annual renewal rates, with extra focus on high-risk accounts
  • Recognise opportunities to upgrade accounts to premium level

Line Management

  • Manage book sales & licensing manager, who sells and processes books and advertising company wide. Also responsible for third party distribution contracts and licensing. Revenue responsibility of c. £300,000
  • Assisting Head of Brand Marketing with on-boarding new team members

Reporting & strategy

  • Use of Google Analytics and other data platforms to provide a monthly analyses of website traffic, usage and acquisition for senior management. Provide market feedback and client and competitor changes, maintaining an up to date competitor analysis guide, for senior management and sales teams.

Product marketing, monitoring and development

  • Working on digital development of product – SEO, UX/UI and online customer testing
  • New product launch management: working with management to set pricing and launch strategy, implementing MVP stage launch with product testing and developmental feedback.
  • Creating and executing a thoughtful tactical cross-channel marketing plan for all service improvements and new editorial content across all channels optimising for readership, purchases and lead generation
  • Managing daily social media communications to drive followers, engagement and new leads
  • Developing media partnerships with external organisations to promote the product to a wide audience
  • Conference attendance and exhibition to ensure effective and quality brand presence
  • Using engaging copywriting skills to produce high quality and targeted collateral, advertising and email campaigns

Lead Generation

Work with sales team to optimise lead generation for new subscription acquisition Provide the sales team with clear product guidelines including demonstrations of market persona needs, value propositions and sales copy

Customer experience

  • Account management for over 500 subscription accounts, ensuring an excellent customer service experience with bespoke touchpoints throughout the year
  • Providing a first point of contact for product stakeholders on website issues, communicating agendas and decisions as well as managing enhancement and new features


  • University degree
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a professional marketing role, ideally in B2B
  • Google Analytics certified with demonstrable experience of use of the platform
  • Practical experience with digital marketing skills and strategy: social media (LinkedIn, Twitter and Hootsuite), SEO (Moz), and email marketing platforms (Dotmailer and Communigator)
  • Experience using a CRM system (Workbooks)
  • Ideally have some experience with renewals and sales negotiation, with a revenue-target focus
  • Line management experience
  • Excellent communication skills and experience communicating to internal and external audiences. Strong eye for detail
  • Analytical and problem - solving skills experience
  • Proven experiences of successfully launching a new product or title
  • Experience in a media / publishing industry and/or knowledge of the legal market is desirable
