Production Editor

Job description

Working across the full portfolio of Law Business Research titles, the Production Editor is responsible for the layout, design and copy-editing of a wide variety of print & digital publications, including, but not limited to, magazines, surveys, reference titles and handbooks.


The Production Editor manages each project to meet production schedules and is also responsible for final proofing checks and sign off at the printers.

We are looking for a Production Editor with a minimum of one years’ experience in publishing. You will work full-time in our West London office. Candidates should have excellent written English skills and will be required to take a copy editing and layout assessment as part of the selection process.
 
Key Tasks

  •       Layout and copy-editing of various publications.
  •       Design and layout of magazine content.
  •       Picture research and editing.
  •       Implementing author amendments.
  •       Collaborating with internal departments.
  •        Project management.
  •        Proofing and signing off publications at the printers.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Acrobat.
  • Competent knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Demonstrable copy-editing skills.
  • Approachable character.
  • Ability to prioritise and work to multiple deadlines.
  • Good reading, writing and organisational skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy within work.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of print and digital design specifications.
