Freelance Production Editor (WWL)

Job description

Who’s Who Legal is a print and digital-based publication that seeks to identify the best legal practitioners in the world. The Production Editor will support the Who’s Who Legal production team in all aspects of the publication process ensuring each title and the series as a whole is published as scheduled.

The Production Editor liaises with internal and external contributors ensuring copy is subedited, uploaded to website, approved for publication and sent to press.

We are looking for an experienced freelance Production Editor. You will work full-time in our West London office, and be paid £120 per day for a fixed period of 5 months (July-Nov). Candidates should have good written English skills and will be required to take a subediting and layout assessment as part of the selection process.

Key Tasks

  • Edit, format and upload biographies and photographs to the WWL database
  • Edit photographs for online and hardcopy formats
  • Layout WWL publications in InDesign
  • Oversee edits for all internal and external content
  • Ensure articles and biographies are approved by contributors for publication
  • Making, distributing and collating proofs
  • Send WWL publications to press


Requirements

  • Good knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat
  •  Demonstrable copy-editing skills
  •   Approachable character
  •  Ability to prioritise and work to multiple deadlines
  • Good reading, writing and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy within work
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of print and digital design specifications
