Salary: £30 – 35K, DoE

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Events Operations Manager to take charge and manage the portfolio of events, from concept through to delivery. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you would be managing a team, and be responsible for ensuring that the events and conferences are delivered effectively, efficiently and within the budget set. This role would involve international travel to events and conferences.

 

What you would be doing:

  • Developing and managing team members and support their development
  • Coordinating the annual production travel schedule with the Head of Operations
  • Working closely with the sales, editorial, sponsorship, production and web departments in the business to ensure the success delivery of events and conferences
  • Ensuring all events are delivered effectively, efficiently and within the budget set
  • Forecasting, determining and keeping accurate record of the event spend
  • Producing proposals for conferences from timelines, venues, staffing, legal obligations, contractors
  • Liaising with external contractors and sponsors
  • Negotiating and executing partner agreements
  • Taking responsibility for handling issues and troubleshooting any problems
  • Conducting pre-and post-event evaluations with team members, reporting on the outcomes

Requirements

What we are looking for:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • At least 3 years’ experience and proven track record of managing and delivering first class paid delegate B2B events / conference
  • Highly organised, and ability to work to tight targets and deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong ability to build rapport
  • Ability to communicate effectively with C-level audience
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Experience within the legal or professional services market would be beneficial
